Ottman is also a composer, and has scored a number of big projects in addition to editing them... Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys, X-Men: The Last Stand, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, The Losers, Superman Returns, etc.

I've never seen anything he's directed, but to start with a big music biopic sounds good to me!
