Sega Ages: OutRun - Arcade Mode! (A Modern Remake of The Classic Out Run Series!)

This version of Sega's long standing Out Run series set to recreate the original stages from the classic game in a more modern 3D style of graphics, along with a new Ferrari to race with. The game featured several modes of play, including an arcade mode (recreation of the classic maps), along with an arrange mode (a mix of older maps restyled, along with several new ones). This is the arcade mode depicted here.

This version of Out Run came out back in 2004 on the Playstation 2, and it featured 3 of the original music tracks from the game, along with a track mix feature. The arrange mode of the game featured rivals similar to the outlaw Porsche from Turbo OutRun that would often try and ram you off the road.

While the Sega Ages version of Out Run looks quite compelling, I'd have to say that nothing beats the original series from the 1980's. I do like this modern 3D version, but the classic is still the best in my eyes.

Unfortunately, the video uploaded to DTube I had to drop to 30FPS and 4Mb/s bit rate because DTube can't seem to handle 60FPS frame rates, nor high bit rates of streaming back to users. But this will likely change over time. The Arrange mode video from our YouTube channel is a lot better quality oat 60FPS and 7Mb/s.
