Is this really what we want, hundreds of different niches, with their different tokens? I have serious doubts about the added value of all these different platforms and Tokens.

I believe there are ways to make it work but not how it is currently done imo. There are just too many complications currently and you basically need a separate steem account to use them properly. The ones that will work longer term are those that are somewhat backed up by SP and allow steem upvotes to be traded for the tokens that get burned afterward (PAL / DEC). The value of the tokens will likely depend on the upvote they can be turned into.
