Do we Teach Kids to be Powerless?

in #parenting7 years ago

When we tell kids that some magical person, thing, or event will remove whatever discomforts they are experiencing, are we enabling a pattern of powerlessness? Shouldn't we be teaching them to be practical, to develop real-life solutions to real-life problems (appropriate to their stage of development of course) rather than encouraging the belief in magical problem-solving fairies? persistance

i do believe in magic though and that lots of things, people or an event can help alleiviate a person problems but yeah i think that
