Hello everyone, hope you're all having a great day..Today I want to share about what my classroom activities is teaching me about parenting, Today after writing on the board, a pupil came interrupting me, at first I almost shouted at him.
But when I turned around, he was holding up his book proudly, showing me a letter he had written by himself.
i applauded and encouraged him, and he proudly went back to his seat. Then I realized that he wasn't actually disturbing me, rather, he wanted to be seen
That moment stayed with me.
Teaching nursery children has taught me that most “misbehavior” is just a child asking for attention in the only way they know how.
And as a mother, that realization changed me.
From henceforth, if my own child pulls at me while I’m busy, I will pause and ask:
Is this disobedience… or connection?
Being both a teacher and a parent has shown me that children respond more to presence than pressure.
And every day in this classroom, I am reminded that patience is not weakness.
It is power.
Has working with children changed how you parent?
