So God Gave Us Toddlers

in #parenting7 years ago

And on the 10th day, God looked around, and said, “I need someone to shake things up!”
So God gave us toddlers.

“I need someone who will stop and admire everything in my perfect creation. Every. Two. Seconds. Someone who will marvel at every shade of blue in the sky, and every blade of grass on the ground. Someone to name the creatures they see and create their own.”

So God gave us toddlers.

“I need someone who will find passion in their voice and themselves, enough that they will want to sing and dance. I want someone to perform the fun songs, and make everyone smile, and maybe dance along. I need someone to show their friends and grown-ups that it’s ok to take risks, and live as I have made them.”

So God gave us toddlers.

“I need someone to remind the grown-ups to make good choices. I need someone who will make sure every cup is perfect, but settle on the same-old, worn-out green cup, because it’s perfect to them. I need someone who will be brave enough to dress themselves in every stitch of clothing and remind the grown-ups of the blessings they have.”

So God gave us toddlers.

“I need someone to show every range of emotion; to have meltdowns and cheer ups, and snuggle times, and alone time. To be scared and sad and lonely, but to also be compassionate to others, and caring towards animals. All in a single day.”

...So God gave us toddlers.

Haha, I love this post. I have twin toddlers right now (and three other kids), and I am seeing a whole lot of this right now. I am currently writing a Steemit post about responding to tantrums. I'm really glad you took the time to highlight some of the beautiful idiosyncrasies of toddlers! Cheers.

Thank you so much! Sometimes, because of all the tantrums and trials, it's hard to focus on the good side. I'll definitely be making a stop to see about responding to the tantrums, ASAP!
Blessings to ya!

Hey, thanks for your comment. I finally got my post about tantrums up. Here it is if you're still interested: https://steemit.com/parenting/@ssimkins9/my-lollipop-is-wet-play-into-the-tantrum-fantasy-sometimes
