Comfortable life for kids

A video that is circulating online may me question my parenting. Are we giving our children a much comfortable life?? Is it not our responsibility to give our children a much more comfortable life than what we ourselves have lived or living? Well, according to the video, that is not the way to raise kids. Making our kids lives very comfortable makes them fragile in this brutal society. The outside world is much different from the home cucoon that they are used to.

Any person other than their parents won't treat them the way their parents have been treating. Will our kids not be able to take the humiliation if at all it is thrown at them in later life? There are much chances of it happening. Will our kids not be able to do their things like washing clothes and dishes if need arises? Much possible. On this, I remember my aunt scolding my dad for making her son do the sweeping once. She shouted at him, saying, how could you make my son do this? And my dad answered saying what's wrong, I have done this and I can do it still. But, she was not in a mood to listen and it is a fact that the little bit who is now around 40 years old does not do any of his work himself. He is still dependent on his mother for little thing and there are times when he shouts at her for not doing his things right.

Seems it is time that I give my son some basic training on how to live a independent life which will have it's ups and downs. It is not always that the parents will be around. He should be prepared to sustain everything be it excessive happiness or any other emotion. Life is not as simple as we think it is.
