Give them less food to eat

kids love to play with their food and when we serve them huge plates of food it unfortunately gives them much more ammunition. The reason they throw their foods is because we give them too much of what they can eat, giving them peice by peice will definitely reduce or stop the habit.

Feed them with your whole attention

Even as parents we tend to be very busy, trying to get the room clean, use the dishwasher, do the laundry, make some phone calls. But try to give them 1:1 attention during meal time, this will definitely give you control over their feeding habits.

Try To Be calm, even if you’re not

Showing a calm attitude will make your kids know you won't take it easy at any food they throw away. Fortunately, faking your calm-attitude will in the long run help you to be more patient. This developed patience will set a valuable tone for your kids mealtimes and allow them to feel comfortable exploring new foods and eating until they are filled up.

Repeat a clear phrase

For example you are sitting next to your kid on his chair and a table of food on his tray, you give him few pieces of food with a smile on your face and he takes the food with a smile on his face and toss it to the ground. At this point you should use simple clear phrase to correct him where the food goes and not to toss them to the ground. “put on the tray”, “do not throw away”, make sure you repeat the phrases several times to make sure they don't repeat same mistakes.

Teach them to put unwanted food into a special section on their high chair or tray

If your kid does not like a particular food or anything in his food, teach them to put them separately on a special section on the table or tray instead of tossing them on the floor. This will reduce a messy table and also make it easier for you to identify what foods your child likes or don't.
