The Call to Peace

in #payitforward5 years ago

We as a nation are all still in shock with the news that in the southern part of the Philippines, in Jolo specifically, there had been twin church bombings, both inside the church- while the mass was ongoing and again, another blasted outside the parking lot as the authorities responded to the incident.

First of all, what happened is an unspeakable act of violence. It was not just perpetrated in a sacred place but, the holy mass, which is the highest form of prayer we offer is ongoing. Yeah, there's the part that it was committed on Sunday.

The death toll is up to 25 and the injured, 77. Of course, I am not starting my own "mini" news center if that's what some of you think nor am I going to tell you guys to do this

But this was immediately released on the same day.

Which was very touching to me considering the events that day.

I can still remember what the spokesperson of the church from the south said in an interview I watched last night:

"We mourn the loss of these faithful people and both their Muslim and Christian friends will miss them."

Which had made me shed some more tears mainly because I am aware that whoever perpetrated it wishes to cause a great divide between these groups- this is no secret to anyone. Unfortunately, the opposite happened.

I don't know what will be the next "intallation" on this issue but it certainly will not escalate further as some might expect. Our shepherds, as they love to call themselves has spoken and we shall all heed. Not because of fear. Not because of anything else. Its just that by consciously deciding to move on, we may finally be able to take our first steps to be at peace once more.

It is an unfortunate fact @ nurseanne84, the enemies of the cross are still persecuting us, we pray for the strength of those who lost their families, for those who are injured and pray for peace to be established in the Churches of the Philippines.

thank you very much @steemchurch @emiliocabrera that is the reality but saying they are "enemies" are very strong words to use on them even if they think we are theirs.

what the letter taught me is this:we forgive our enemies but move on.its not that we forget the pains and sufferings they wrought against us but simply concentrating on it would fill the near future with anger, bitterness and hatred and, we can't enjoy life then if this happens.

I believe in justice.let's live on in peace.

I understand Sister, but my approach is to quote that biblically speaking we are like sheep of slaughterhouses and, although we pray for mercy, we can not deny the title that the Bible gives to these behaviors of people:

Because there are many out there, of whom I told you many times, and even now I say it in tears, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ;
Philippians 3:18

It is hard to understand why one person can kill another that is not known to them and neither done them any harm.
If this is religious I am at a loss to understand how they could break The basic moral code of taking a life, i think all religions have that written in stone.
Please keep safe Anne. Our Blessings go out to you and your fellow country people. Hold on to Love and Peace, oneday it will prevail. 🌹

thank you.I am actually living far away...like many, many miles away.still, we feel the pain of what these people did to innocent ones.

it is not religious it is pure terrorism

All forms of terrorism have their basis in an Ideal. Some are freedom fighters and for others its for power or greed. Unfortunately religion gets caught up in the fight more times than it would like. It is but one cause among many. The USA could be deemed a terrorist state for the many wars it has conducted around the world and the people of thoes countries are just trying to defend them selves. In this case however religion has been used as an excuse. It would be interesting to find out what the causes were in this attack.

i would say that it is to cause civil unrest that these kind of terrorism is done

So sorry to hear the news @nurseanne84, my deep condolences to all the victims. The actor behind the bombs really bad and they're not the real muslim but terorist, if they're muslim they will respect other God's creatures, especially human. That group even kidnapped muslim people to ask for ransom.

Wish that the peace agreement will soon be build and all the terorists dissappear from our peaceful world

I think that what these people want is to create a great division in our country:muslim on one side and christians on the other. The truth in my country: we really don't care what you believe in. Here in the far north, we do have Muslim minorities and, we have been living peacefully with them. They send their children to schools same as we do ours, we buy our food on the same markets, we live together peacefully.

Yes.. we even have 6 different religions here in Indonesia and muslim is majority, but nobody support the terorism action like that. Hope that everything will be resolved soon. We don't need terrorists around.

The act of terrorism is alarming these days.
Imagine bombing the church out of all places.
This is very bad.

if they can do that, what is stoppong them from going another step like detonating a bomb in schools?cruelty truly has no bounds.

Better still, May be they should go ahead and bomb everything and even bomb themselves.
It is annoying.

Hi, thanks to our friend in common @crypto.piotr I could get to your post from now on I follow you, and I'm very sorry to see that news, and I hope that soon that can be resolved. I know what we feel in Venezuela we have 20 years with a government that applies that kind of methods, very recently on Saturday in a church between an armed group of the government that call themselves collectives and attacked everyone in the church and stole many things in the church. that was very scary.

Friend, I want you to know that from my home I send many prayers to everyone in your country.

thank you very much @lanzjoseg. I hope that that will be the end of the violence inside the church.Everyone here are even scared to attend mass(me included) and, we do not have any choice but do so. However, we are getting more and more suspicious especially on people who goes to mass with big bags or whatnots........

Very sad. The aim is to drive a wedge between people, stoke hate with fear. We must not let them control our emotions. Love and peace to you and your country

Indeed it is very saddening @felt.buzz :(

I pray for you all! 🙏🏼

This is very awful news. I still wonder sometimes that with this kind of horrible act what they are trying to prove or achieve. 25 are deth - it's not only 25 because there is possibility that someone's only child died, someone's parent or the partner. We can't say how many people depend on those 25 and what they will do now. Same goes for who injured badly.

I am so sorry for the people who died and hurt @nurseanne84.

Stay safe !!

@nurseanne84... This is really a cruel world and the ones who did this heinous crime can't be pardoned and must be punished cruelly!

Their inhumane attitude will reflect the same quantum of suffering(and maybe more) to them in the near future, which these insane swines refuse to realize.

RIP to those who lost their lives. My prayers to those who are severely injured and to those who lost their limbs. May the God's choicest blessings protect them at all times for the rest of their lives.

I understand where you are coming from and I respect that. However, as we have been saying, let us be peaceful.whatever type of punishment and justice they deserve, god will surely overtake them in a way or another. For the meantime, be at peace and live your life to the fullest.

Well, media has to step in on the right side. And I mean unity. When traditional media does not do its job, it's up to free media enthusiasts to do it. Blogging about this is something worth doing, so don't lose faith in that!

Speaking of media enthusiasts, I do hope my enthusiasm gets me into a position to be able to help a bit more soon. Working on that.

Thanks, @crypto.piotr for inviting us all to this article. Nice to meet you, @nurseanne84.

May all people who want peace bless your efforts!

Dear @manoldonchev

media has to step in on the right side. And I mean unity.

It would be great if it would be possible. It doesnt seem to be :(

Speaking of media enthusiasts, I do hope my enthusiasm gets me into a position to be able to help a bit more soon. Working on that.

Interesting. Would you mind sharing more information with us?

Yours
Piotr

Of course, but some internal coordination needs to pass before that.

Dear @manoldonchev

Thank you for your kind comment and never ending support :)

Appreciate it a lot.

ps.
Friend of mine is looking for crypto writers and social media marketers. Perhaps you or someone you know would be interested in such a position (check out my latest post).

Yours, Piotr
