SILIGURI | My Hometown

Hey guys welcome to my blog. Did you all enjoy reading my previous blog well I know it was boring but I tried writing a small stuff related my life and me although few people enjoyed reading it and few did not. Anyone reading my blog for the first time do read my previous blog. Could not post the whole of me because I am a boring person so did not want you all to get bore of only me and me so posted a limited edition of me as anyone said limited edition stands the best edition.
So now let's start my second blog the place i was born and the place i live i.e. my home town Siliguri.

Siliguri is a city which spans across the Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts in the Indian state of West Bengal. The city is located on the Bank's of the Mahananda River and the foothills of the Himalayas.

The Municipal Corporation of Siliguri is abbreviated as SMC which mean Siliguri Municipal Corporation SMC was established in the year 1994 and has responsible for the development of the city.

Siliguri, is called the gateway of North East India,Some of the oldest sites (British period, since 1880's) in Siliguri are, Hill Cart road, Siliguri Town railway station, Mahabirsthan market.
Siliguri also known for its '4T': Tea, Timber, Tourism and Transport. Siliguri has three Railway stations namely Town Station being the oldest and first , New Jalpaiguri station (NJP) and Siliguri Junction

The nearest Airport in Siliguri is the Bagdogra Airport (Domestic)

Government sponsored institutions in Siliguri: premier institutions are, University of North Bengal (1962), a state university and North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (1968), a state medical college and other institutions are,
Siliguri College , Siliguri College of Commerce,
Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy Government College , Kalipada Ghosh Tarai Mahavidyalaya , Siliguri Government Polytechnic , Jagadish Chandra Vidyapith etc.

Average Temperature During Summer in Siliguri is 34℃ whereas in winter 12℃ which is perfectly the best climatic condition siliguri actually deals with.

SILIGURI has exact 47 Wards and the current Mayor is Mr. Ashok Narayan Bhattacharya from CPI(M) one of the Oldest and great politician in the history of Siliguri.

The Nearest Visiting spot for the youngsters is Sevoke. And tourist offenly visit their for worshiping Goddess Kali the popular Sevoke Kali Bari and the Coronation Bridge or the Offenly said term Bhag pool

The Coronation Bridge, also known as the
Sevoke Bridge, in Darjeeling district of West Bengal , India, spans across the Teesta River , connecting the districts of Darjeeling and
Jalpaiguri . National Highway 31 runs across it.
It was named to commemorate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937 and was completed in 1941 at a cost of Rs 4 lakhs. Locals call the bridge Baghpool , meaning tiger bridge.

Siliguri is now Blessed with some good Shopping Malls and has almost come up with almost all international brands and also has some good worldwide famous chains of restaurants such as Pizza hut , Dominos , KFC and others the most and prime time visiting mall which has turned out to be a social gathering for young generation is the City Centre Mall or CC and the newly opened Mall Vega Circle Siliguri has mostly the young generation spot.
Their are few other malls but this two has a great popularity and the success rate of this two is increasing rapidly in numerous time.

Foods is what people of Siliguri actually like so we are fortunate with so much of Cuisines served everyday starting from Restaurants to Streets Cuisines such as Mughlai, Punjabi , Bengali South Indian and others.. the Best and all time Favourite Bengali Restaurant for me and also my family is the Bhojohori Manna Siliguri and for Punjabi Cuisines i like going the Bengal International their are some good Marwari Restaurants too but as a Bong i like having the Mughlai Cuisines so my all time fav is the Zaiika Biryani House Arsalan Biryani is good by Zaika Stands the best as I am having since I was 10 years old...

There are Some good Hospitals too in Siliguri.

The only drawback in Siliguri is we don't have some good industries and a film set otherwise our City is just Fabulous with Tea Estates, Hills Testa River and with some extremely good and helpful people.
