School and society

Honestly I don't understand this thing anymore.
Emeka Nobis, BGS of his set.
Ezekiel Ulebor, BGS of his set.
These two lads are doing things different from what they studied in school. Emeka even resigned from a well paying company, to be a marketer, a public speaker, a writer, etc. An engineering student ooo.
Why then should we focus on getting good grades? Today, money is a major distraction, self development and connection is the order of the day.
People who never cared about good grades are the ones controlling the economy, they're the decision makers etc.
What then is school??? Why should one focus on making good grades??? When the grades is degraded by the society. #i'm-lost
