Buy Bitcoin in the Philippines using PHP
You've heard about Bitcoin, Ethereum and cryptocurrency in general. But if you are still confused and would like to enter the world of cryptocurrency, I will guide you on how to buy your first Bitcoin using Philippine Peso.
Registering on Coins.ph
- You need to register on Coins.ph. Click here to register. One warning I'd like to emphasize is you need to register your real name when dealing with crypto.
- Verify your account in Coins.ph and download the app on Google Play or IOS Appstore. Verification may take 2-5 days. Unverified accounts can only cash in 2000 PHP per day.
Loading your Coins.ph account with PHP
- Recommended to do this once you're verified. For your first foray in buying crypto, I advise you to load at least 5k-10k PHP. Do not load higher than that unless you have that much extra money.
- Cash-In in coins.ph has many ways but I would recommended via 7-Eleven or Cebuana Padala. 7-Eleven charges 2% of the amount while Cebuana has a flat rate of 40 pesos. As much as possible do not use banks when dealing with crypto as this is still unregulated.
Converting your PHP to Bitcoin
- Once you have your account loaded with PHP, you can now buy Bitcoin.
- Click convert and enter the PHP amount you want to be converted to BTC. Slide the bar to confirm the conversion.
- Switch to your BTC wallet and check if your conversion is correct. Congrats you have your first BTC and welcome to the world of cryptocurrency.
Now that you have your BTC, you are now ready to step into the world of Cryptocurrency trading. Don’t worry if your BTC is just a decimal number, there are many currencies that BTC can be traded. I will write about how to start trading on my next post.
