This picture was taken at our backyard in Aurora province where my father used to cut wood twice a week using a sharp bolo and axe. We used firewood for cooking, especially our native delicacies like rice cake and glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk.

When I was a kid, I used to climb trees such as guava trees, mango trees and citrus trees (dalandan).
We brought salt before climbing up because when we reached the top, we eat the fruits.

Sometimes my father goes to the cockpit with his rooster to gamble. Sometimes he won, but most of the time, he lost! LOL.

When you go on a vacation in the province, you will see nature at its best. After months, or even years of working in the city, you can finally breathe in some fresh air.

The nipa hut is a Filipino traditional house, and we still have this in our hometown. Some of my relatives are still living in this kind of house. Even during summer, you don’t have to worry because still it’s cozy inside.

These two clingy dogs love me as I love them. Yes they are aspin (asong pinoy) but they are very special!

A place where there is no traffic! When I was in elementary, we used to play badminton on the road because cars seldom pass by. LOL!

Traditionally, Filipinos prepare plenty of food for New Year ’s Eve for the whole family, relatives, and friends. We always prepare spaghetti, macaroni salad and purple yam.
