Turn Your Passion Into A Talent! 🌟

Who Is Talented?

Everybody knows of at least one person that they'd label as gifted. This person could be anyone. It can be your partner who is superb at cooking or your favourite pianist.

There are many forms that talent comes in, however, what is it about them that makes us label them as talents? Something you may notice about these extremely skilled people is that they are doing their skill in such a way that looks easy to us.

These people whom you'll label as gifted have been practising their talent nearly daily for several years, and so it's become a habit to them. However is this a God-given talent that they were born with? No, of course not! They have learnt through by long and arduous practice.

You know what you like, what you're addicted to and what you're good at. However, how would you take this passion and make it into a talent?

Creating Dreams One Step At A Time

Ending up better at something, no matter what it is, involves small and distinct changes. For example, you may realise what you are very enthusiastic about. You have discovered that you are a fast learner and have a good ear for music. You have ended up realising that you wish to be good at playing the guitar. However, it might not be wise of you to start learning the instrument and then send your demo to the best music producers and managers straightaway.

Little advances prompt massive gains. It's probable that there's a large area between where you are and where you would like to be. Nonetheless, by setting yourself small and realistic goals, you will be ready to slowly master the passion that other will eventually describe as your talent.

In the book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, it says that it takes a minimum of ten thousand hours or roughly ten years of practice to master a skill. Don't let this statement put you off. If you think that about the situation, there might also be many things you are already deemed gifted at, from sympathising with others, dancing, listening or writing. We are continually practising skills that are unknown to ourselves.

To start revealing new skills, all you need to do is recognise your passions, have specific goals and stick with it!

Don't be modest, everybody has talents, what are yours? Nobody was born with talent, but we were all born with the potential to make our dreams realities. There's a chance for all, take it!

Joseph campbell said "follow you bliss and the universe will open doors for you where they were wall" . So what ever gives you inner peace or joy when ever you do that thing can lead you to unimaginable success. Nice post @arckrai

Practice makes Perfect so the saying goes, I agree along with a lot of patience.

I love Gladwell’s books especially outliers! And as daunting as 10000hrs seems, it’s is encouraging that we can be good at anything we put our effort into!
Also a great TED talk by Josh Kaufman (

) explains that you just need 20 hours to get fairly good at something (the first 20 hrs are the most frustrating of those 10000 hrs :)
