The 'mirror of approval' has taken over from 'inner reflection' for the moment, and thus creating untold narcissistic, weak, empty people...
Even before, it's not that everyone used it. Entertainment and distractions prevent that work. And even before that too. But there does seem to be lesser and lesser individuals who care to go deeper.
