Captured Wind

in #philosophy6 years ago

I have told you many times about the winds in my city, and how uncomfortable it can get when you are not prepared for it. Now, that two years have almost passed since I moved here, I can handle the winds just fine. As a matter of fact, I came to appreciate them for what they are, a moving force.

Feeling insecure when I moved out of my parents house made me uncomfortable, and everything else seemed so unsettling back then. Even things like the wind. I didn't like the feeling that I had, the unprotected one, but the desire for freedom and exploration prevailed.

That same desire is what made me love the winds right now. There is nothing worse than being captured and not being able to move freely. I can see now that same thing in people, acting like the captured winds. Hurricanes on the inside, muted by everyday life and struggles. And in society as a whole. Not even a breeze is welcomed, because it brings the smell of change in the air, and change is something people don't like or accept gladly.

Why is that?

Coming to this subject from a place of discomfort to complete acceptance and growth, I can see why some people just don't like to change. But isn't that the whole point of us being here? Learning and adapting. You can't expect things to stay the same if you want to progress and feel better, some change is mandatory.

Change your opinion?

Change how you feel about change?! Sound strange, but has a lot of meaning to it. Change is something you need to grow and expand.

"I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination."
Jimmy Dean

Well, Jimmy has a point there. Using something that bothered you to your own advantage and progress no matter what the conditions are, that is the lesson today. Feeling secure and confidant even if something is different than usual is what defines you as a person.

What do you think? Are you ready to change?

I needed this story today, draga Tamara... :)

I'm so glad to hear that! :)

Change is everything! Always!!! :)

Yes!
Great travel post, btw!

Thank you, neighbour!

Great post and agree that we should all embrace change. It is a natural part of life and the big picture. Impermanence is necessary to create beauty in the world; such as when the solid transforms to liquid. The melting of the snow, spring arrives and the flowers begin to blossom :)

Oh, I can't wait for the spring to come!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
