Below are a few pictures of a 1600's spanish cob 4 Reales found on a beach in Florida during dredged sand that was dumped onto the beach.  I don't know the value of it but I plan to keep it and pass it to my son.

Silver Spanish Cob 4 Reale

I have been lucky in my life to have found coins on the beach from New Jersey to Florida.  My uncle found a cache of Gold English sovereigns in Northern Greece in the 80's. left from the rebels during the Nazi occupation of Greece during the war.  The English would airdrop supplies such as guns, ammo and gold coins and the rebels would hide them. Some never made it back while others are still somewhere waiting to be found lost in time!  Greece has a real rich history going back before the war.  Imagine finding a Spartan helmet or shield or a Queens Crown! I know during the Greek economic collapse a lot of people starting metal detecting in Greece looking for gold and antiques. I plan to tell my uncles story in more depth in another post.  He never told anyone exactly how many he found but he still has some of the coins in the picture below to this day because every time I visit him in Greece he always gives me a few!

Keep them, its a free investment anyway. Only time can dictate its value. But in one i'm sure, yearly its price increase.

Thanks I plan to keep them, Maybe I will get it checked out a little deeper soon but for now Its worth its weight in silver! It's a nice piece of history for my son to keep when he gets older.

I am sure, its valued is more than the value of BTC.

Have you looked up any of the imagery on the coin?? So cool to see the unique stamping they used to create the coin. Where in Florida was this??

I know the English coins because they are popular I tried to look up the silver Spanish coins I found but it comes up as metal. I have found coins up In North Jersey and in Port St. Lucie Florida. My neighbor told me its an Atocha coin but we were thinking how it could have drifted so far up north to Port St. Lucie!
