THE LEGEND OF THE FLOWER OF THE GODDESS.
Long time ago, in the blossoming fragrant garden, the rules of the Goddess, the lady of Roses. She was very fond of roses, and planted a lot of flowers in the garden, which she cherished in every possible way. But, once, among her favorite flowers rose a bush of wild roses. His stems and branches were much higher than the rest of the rose bushes, and the sun was blocking them. Roses began to complain to the goddess on a wild bush. But the wild rose was very kind, affectionate and affable, and also regretted that it involuntarily obscured the sun to its sisters, and said that for their sake it was ready for any sacrifices.
Thinking, the Goddess, gently transplanted the wild rose to the edge of the ravine, and to the roadsides, and the houses. And as a reward she sent her a gift of bright healing berries, giving them a magical power ... And so that no one would break a wild rose, she added sharp spikes on her branches, for protection. Since then, the wild rose is called the Flower of the Goddess, Rosehip.

Our ancient ancestors considered the dogrose holy, called it the God Plant. People believed that he possessed good, strong magic. And that he can arouse the fervor of feelings in the souls of people, and that the petals of the hips, scattered around the house, are capable of preserving peace, love and tranquility at home. People felt the magic power of the dog-rose, and tried to plant bushes near the house, the branches of the dog rose adorned the doors and porch of the house. In the people, the dog rose was valued historically as a guard: they believed that his sharp thorns drove away evil spirits and witches. To protect them from his branches hung above the door of the house, above the cradle. According to legends, he guarded the newlyweds from the evil eye, and his infusion returned strength and fullness of feelings. According to the language of flowers, a person who gives a flowering briar branch, admits that he is a novel. "I'm sure that I can make you happy! To attract love, girls wore beads from his berries, and for a successful marriage the girl needed to cut off the flower of the dog-rose, dry it and keep under her pillow. It was believed that washing with water, infused with rosehip, makes the face "whiter than snow white, the sun is brighter than the sun," preserves youth and beauty. During the flowering, the grandmothers deliberately sat under the bush of a dog rose and told the grandchildren of a fairy tale - it was believed that so children will quickly get rid of fears. It was forbidden to break the dog-rose, and if necessary, then gifts were left under it, asking for forgiveness.
The ancient Slavs even celebrated the feather of the dog rose - June 6. We danced around him dances, sang ritual songs, prepared a treat. It was believed that it was from this day that the real summer begins: the dogrose bloomed - meet the summer, reddened its fruits - see off the summer. With this day, people's signs are connected. Blossomed wild rose, there will be no more frosts, you can plant the seedlings in the open ground, if this day is rainy - then there will be a big harvest of mushrooms. It is interesting that according to the flowers of the dog rose it is possible to compare the hours: they open from 4 to 4 hours 30 minutes in the morning, close at 19-20 hours.
Rosehips are valued not only for amazing legends and beauty, but also for its medicinal properties.
People call him "doctor of the forest". About its medicinal properties people have known in ancient times.
