MyPictureDay Submission- Helmeted Guineafowl

in #photofeed7 years ago (edited)
The helmeted guineafowl (Numida meleagris) is the Numididae family, and the only member of the genus Numida. This bird originated from Africa, especially in the southern Sahara, although today many found in various parts of the world, even been maintained by many people.

Guineafowl helm is a gregarious species, they often join other species. Evidently, where I took this photo, he even played, also do mating with chicken.

Groups of guineafowl have thrived as of late in the northern and southern rural areas of Cape Town, where they have adjusted surprisingly well. Herds meander gradually along the calmer rural streets while rummaging on the verdant 'asphalts' and in gardens where the fence is sufficiently low for some to enter without feeling isolated from their rush. Around evening time they regularly perch on the tops of cabins. While occupants for the most part value the nearby untamed life, they can be a disturbance, blocking movement and making a great deal of clamor in the early morning.

Their prosperity might be credited to their vast however wary groups – they can fight off felines, yet don't enter gardens with canines, and are sufficiently noticeable in the calm streets which they regular to abstain from being keep running over. Albeit numerous youthful guineafowl tumble down channels (and are deserted by the run), such setbacks are insufficient to control their numbers. Grown-up fowls are in some cases got and eaten by the destitute.

This picture I took at the home of one of my family on Sabang Island, on my vacation trip a few days ago.
