Its partner hovers around while it's perched right in front of me only a few meters away. Slowly but surely: Zoomed in to 168mm to frame the seed pods, F.7.1 to reduce depth and increase clarity, ISO 100 to avoid overexposure under direct sunlight. 1/400.

That looks like a difficult pose for the bird! You're lucky it stayed long enough...
This is the Philippine bulbul? lol! I am not sure what bird this is because these birds frequent our yard too. They always come in twos but only one couple at a time. I don't even know the local name for it.
I think so. -The yellow-vented variety. We call it "Luklak". 😁
I have yet to find out what the local name of this bird is :D
