Curious rock sausage

The goal when hanging out with large marine mammals is that you want them to be curious about your presence, which is a great sign that they feel comfortable even though you are close by. This female crabeater seal kept swimming up beside my zodiac looking up at us and then swimming back under some ice before returning to check us out once again.

Just in case you weren't sure what type of animal I am talking about

Due to her being so comfortable and curious it did give me an amazing opportunity! At one point I decided to put my Gopro under the water, which is attached to long pole in hopes of obtaining some underwater footage. I did manage to snap almost the perfect moment, as she felt so comfortable to want to investigate the strange object in the water.
