Bolt strikes Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower became a lightning rod after a bolt shot straight through the iconic Parisian landmark on Sunday.
Photographer Bertrand Kulik captured the electric moment the lightning hit the top of the 1,063 ft tower. “It was so close from my window, I really felt like I could feel the power,” said the 38-year-old.
Swathes of France were hit by violent storms earlier this week. The extreme weather is set to continue as hail and strong winds are expected to strike the country.
The iron tower was also hit by lightning on May 22. The passing month has witnessed the most frequent thunderbolts in the past eight years.
