We grow the garlic chives plant indoors, it is like chives but with a garlicky flavor. I have thought about growing garlic but since the cats love taste testing the garlic chive stalks, I don't think we will ever try just garlic.
I am glad you got a lemon to harvest! We usually get flowers in January and March for a harvest in September and December.
Gardening with cats can be challenging. My daughter too ;) She tries to harvest lemons regardless to color ... The lemon I harvested was a bit cheating. It was on the tree already when I bought it :D I look forward to see the flowers soon!
