Sony a6000, 6 months latter
If you are anxious to see the verdict - it's a good camera, buy one.
However, there are some annoying features of my Sony.
First things first.
Sony a6000 comes in two usual kits, with the 16-50 mm, f/ 3.5-5.6 for about 600 Euros and with the additional 55-210 mm f/4.5-6.3 for about 720 Euros.
with the 16-50 it is a bit boring. Yes, you will get the solid camera for open space and architecture (24 mm equivalent, or if you prefer "3m wide from 2m away")
Sharpness is fair but not superb, bokeh is boring and not too strong (3.5-5.6 , can't beat the physics) and the macro is average.
In conclusion, it is ok for everyday life, but nothing else.55-210 was the revelation!
it is the perfect tool for the bugs, as you can zoom them from 1m and catch them in flight.
Bokeh is like painted with the water colours, and very pleasant, especially with some grass or branches in the background.
My additional purchases
macro tubes (about 20 Euros)
Just the cheapest from the Amazon, with the contacts. The focus is a bit slow, but for macro, you don't need it in general. Just zoom with your body.Old Russian Helios 44 (30 Euros, and about 15 for the adapter)
Great portrait lens with the swirly bokehWide angle Samyang 12 mm f/ 2.0 (I took it for only 160 Euros)
Fantastic sharpness, the only drawback is some purple fringing when the Sun is positioned oddly.
Good things about the Sony:
- very fast and accurate autofocus
- flash that you can bounce from the walls
- Fn buttons that you can programed
- Great burst for insects in flight
Things I am indifferent
- the grip is tiny, I usually hold it with the palm on the bottom
- the screen is just tiltable
- the viewfinder is acceptable
- battery life is just enough for the whole day, but there is no confidence
- Sony SEL50F18 costs more than 200 Euros, 100 more than the Canon's or Nikon's 50 mm
- low light performances in real life are not so much better than the old Canon 600d I previously used
Annoying things
- the lag after shooting, if you want to access the menu or the images (instantaneous for the Canon)
- colors are simply not the Canon's colors. Yes, yes, Lightroom, CaptureOne, but it is not the same
- No selfies! No tilting screen - no selfies
- people don't get you serious. If you have the Canon or Nikon dslr, you are "the Pro". With the tiny Sony people just don't try to pose in the same way
In conclusion:
great for insects
with the 55-210 good for sports
expensive for portraits if you need autofocus ( the girl is walking towards you...)
good for the landscapes if you post process the images
good for every day
impossible for selfies
Why Sony, just why... Why there is no fully articulating screen like the one on 400 Euro worth Canon :(

Thanks for bringing macro tubes to my attention, they are exactly what I am looking for to help up my A6000 game.
