The Summer Gardening Bug Has Bitten

Recent additions to the garden, coupled with the warm weather have piqued my gardening interest... so I've combined today's gardening journal with my theme of week (aperture) and rolled them both up into one post :P

This is my original photo, taken before 'thinking' about settings, scenery or lighting

My first task in the garden today was the nursery; I've got a few new cuttings that are waiting for some new roots to show before they get planted into a pot.

We've also got some new pots that I want to fill so I thought I'd take some cuttings from a succulent that grows really (really) well in my front garden (with literally no maintenance what-so-ever) and see if I can get them going in the new pots.

Second photo, aperture and scenery is better but I've accidentally focused on the background... although, as you will read, this worked surprisingly well into my story-line so... is it a mistake? lol

The cuttings seen in the background above are those new cuttings but to my surprise... I took them to the planting space and discovered that the 'VW Combi' (purchased & potted only a few days ago) was already sprouting a handful of fresh, new plants stretching up from the surface and silently screaming for water.

The third photo is starting to look how I imagined it... although the background is still bothering me

When I first saw this 'novelty VW' pot in the shop... I thought it would make a nice addition for my desk, but now... I mean, come on, look at those little guys... I think my heart has just been stolen <3

Final photo; looks much better, brown paper was utilised for the background but the paper towel adds contrast and provides some balance for the shape of the pot. Lighting could be better.

Anyhoo, for the foresee-able future, I'll have some new desk-mates to share my krazii with...

Haha, my 'Hippy-Daisy-Mates' who live in a VW combi on my desk... XD

...and I'll keep you updated on whether my cuttings are successful.

Until next time... xxx

Thanks for stopping by and reading my post, I really do appreciate your time.

And remember to keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you're thinking...!
