Milky Way Edit before and after photos --- What do you think?

in #photography9 years ago

I recently published a photo heavily edited in Lightroom and was curious how people felt about photos edited to bring out the detail of the Milky Way. A few people asked me to post some before and after photos so they could compare the original to the edit.

This is the first photo after the edit

This is the first photo with no editing other than a resize to make it more web friendly

Second photo before edit.

I am curious how you feel about the original and the edit and if the edit takes away or adds to the way you experience the photo.

These photos are from Mount Lemon in Tucson Arizona

Amazing! Well done! For me, I especially like the original photos.... :)

Thanks for the feedback, its interesting to know how everyone feels about the edits.

You're welcome! ;)

To be honest i found the edited ones are much better! nice pictures.

Thank you for the feedback and kind words!

I don't mind the filters.
They look great either way, but the filters add something that makes them look amazing.

Thank you for the comment, I really appreciate the feedback.

You are more than welcome.
I voted up your intense milky way edit post but didn't leave a comment.
Having the originals to compare demonstrates how different an edited photo actually is.
Great photos, thank you for sharing.

Very nice. It's a beautiful scene either way, but I can appreciate the clarity of the edited version. The contrast and colors are really vivid. The ridge of land adds a great touch, too.

Thank you for taking a closer look and I appreciate the feedback!

The edited one really brings out the color. Good work:)

Thank you! I agree, it really makes it pop

The result is amazing, time spent on editing is certainly worth it.
Wait, let me fix my makeup ;)

Thank you and I like the makeup analogy. :)

Are theses stacked or single photo's?

Very nice work!

Thank you, so you prefer the edit?

As much as I prefer a Hubble image to the visual image I see through my 12" Zhumell

Nothing like a 1.5 billion dollar comparison,lol

Point well taken

wow, well done! My favorites are the edited ones ;)

Thank you, glad you stopped by! :)

I prefer the edited one. Great photos!
