Let The Pictures Do The Talking!
Hello Steemit!
Travel back in time with me to the beautiful Hill station of Darjeeling, which is nestled among the rolling mountains, with the views of mighty Mount Kanchenjunga towering over the azure sky, Darjeeling is fondly called as the "Queen of the Hills" and provides a perfect gateway for those seeking to be in harmony with nature. If a picture can tell a thousand stories and infuse life into moments long gone, here's your chance to ride with me on this magical trail.
Escaping from the scorching Sun that devoured me in Bihar, I rode 610 km and made my way up the hills to reach Darjeeling. There was an instant change in the atmosphere and the culture around me, which is what I love about India, there is a change in the dialect, the lifestyle every 50 km!
I woke up to see the sunrise with the Sun and the Moon in the same frame, it was a beautiful spectacle. Since it was a Sunday, I attended a Nepali mass at Sacred Heart Church, Singamari, my very first experience. I ate a scrumptious breakfast at Keventers and then proceeded to meet the bikers from Darjeeling with whom I was supposed to ride and then do a small trek till the Lamahatta Lake.
Instead, we went off-roading all the way up to the lake battling the slushy mud and the pine trees, an exhilarating experience in itself. I could just be there the entire day, soaking in the pine wood smell, the wet grass, and the misty air. But then we decided to escort a fellow biker to Gangtok and took a route which had exceptionally steep curves, quite different from the ones I rode in Ladakh.
I had plans of riding further towards the Seven sisters, but my biker friends stopped me from riding any further, due to the heavy rains and the flood warnings - Eventually, 😆 I had to bid adieu, but I have left my heart back there, in the North East, I will go back, I have to, I left my heart back there, remember.
As a Indian I know the restrictions for women in our society and you have overcome all these and proving yourself. I like your courage and traveling experiences
I have never visited darling, will visit in future.
Yes @krishatnet. It sure is difficult to be a biker and travel like this in India. But I am very thankful to have supportive parents and friends :)

Darjeeling is indeed enchanting. From the puffin Iron Sherpa to the tranquil tea plantations. Nice work!
