I stole a street intersection sign once (the green ones that sit atop the stopsign) and then I didn't want it anymore but we were stuck with it. Not wanting anyone to see it, we had it covered in the back porch. This was in florida...then we had a hurricane. After the hurricane, we tossed it outside. The street sign belonged at least 15-20 miles away, but we convinced everyone that the hurricane brought it over
lol what a scheme! It's interesting what we go through to hide these particular objects. I think I kept mine covered for a while too and my folks found it during a move. It's a regrettable thing I think that kids just don't understand till after the fact but many of us are compelled to do.
