Sea-Mountain-Sea View / Meer-Berg-Meer-Blick #75

in #photography7 years ago
Too tired to go out today, so I'll just post some pics from a few weeks back, when the weather was still rather bad. I've wanted to use them for #featheredfriday, recently hosted by @melinda010100, for a while now, but always forgot.

That day I got a bit lucky, although the weather was poor. The swallows were out en masse to collect mud for building nests. There had been a water leak for a few days near the coast & therefore the ground was soft enough for the swallows to use it.An dem Tag hatte ich ein bißchen Glück, obwohl das Wetter schlecht war.

They were so busy that they didn't care too much about humans in the vicinity. & because the muddy part was a rather small area, it was easier than usual to even get them in flight.

Of course, there were other birds around as well. This little flycatcher (I think) wasn't sure about me.Natürlich waren auch andere Vögel unterwegs.

A hooded crow had found something to eat. Not sure what, though:Eine Nebelkrähe hatte was zu futtern gefunden. Bin aber nicht sicher, was:

The sea was quiet, but under grey clouds. Pretty depressing view. Verbreitete eher schlechte Stimmung.

Strangely enough, some boats were out there, anyway.Seltsamerweise waren trotzdem einige Boote unterwegs.

Friday's almost over already, so that should be it for now. Just some more pics:Freitag ist schon fast vorbei, also soll's das gewesen sein. Nur noch ein paar Bilder:

Dear @bossel;
One thing that I found common in Steemit German community, is that most of German's writer post in two language. I really like this style! Now let's head to your lens and post!
I'm not going in order, So in landscape photos, I really enjoyed the last one, specially that boat far far away... Nice composition.
The ants photo also is so bright and sharp, kinda catches my eye!
And of birds photo, I really enjoyed this photo and also it's naration;

"Still looking at me! What a creep. Let's scram."

Nice Post, keep up the good work ♥

Thank you!

The German steemit community is rather small, so there is quite some motivation for German writers to do it bilingually.

You got some great shots of the birds and I like the one of the crow. They are scavengers so it could be almost anything in its beak.

Thanks.
At first I thought it looked like a young mouse, but it doesn't seem to be. Really hard to tell.

hi @bossel
I find your post very nice !! and fun with your "conversations with those guys !! beautiful photos, thanks for sharing

Beautiful pictures. I loved the 4th one. It captures the elegance and amazing plumage of the swallow. Beautiful colors.

What kinds of ants were those. they look both scary and yummy :)
their heads and butts look like some kind of black/blue berry

Thanks.

Sorry, but I'm not an expert on ants. It could be a messor species, perhaps messor capitatus. They are ubiquitous here in Patras. The big ones can be around 1cm in length.

Great shot! especially the ants. Do you have to lay on the ground to capture that?

Thanks.
No, in that case I just used the normal zoom lens. & this has a minimal distance of 21 cm, anyway.

I see, it was pretty up close, so that's why I asked.

What a bunch of great pictures, I actually never seen swallows gathering mud for their nests before, I'm glad to see it, you have a really cool collection of pictures showing the biodiversity of a small location, all of the really nice! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks!

You have to be lucky. They only do it on a few days & (unless you're a zoologist, I suppose) you don't really know when & where.

What a great selection of birds! The swallows are beautiful. Interesting to see them taking advantage of that bit of mud to find nest building material . And of course I love that crow! Cool shot of the ants, too! Thanks for using the #featheredfriday tag!

Thanks!
Actually, mud might be a real problem for them near the coast. Most of the ground there is too coarse to serve as building material.

very beautiful your photos in movement, it's hard for me to get out that way because they come out very blurry or do not come out at all great, congratulations!!!

Thanks!

It's a matter of camera, lens & light. & you need some luck &/or endurance. Sometimes it takes dozens of pictures to get one right.
