photography/travel blog Plitviče Lakes National Park, Croatia
Been to Croatia some years ago, because my girlfriend had some good experience many years ago and always was talking about the Plitviče Lakes National Park, so we decided to go back. This national park is known for its terraced lakes (16 in total) and waterfalls. The color of the water is really amazing, sometimes greenish sometimes more blueish, but really something different then you would see somewhere else. Already since the late 1970's the park was added to the UNESCO world heritage register, and really not without a reason.
The park can be hiked (entrance around 25 Euro in summer season), where near the waterlines you are walking on wooden walkways. Also a boat ride can be done on the bigger lake. If you do the full hike it cost you around 6 hours, but you can cut the hike by taking an electric boat. This will save you about 90 minutes.
Hope you enjoyed the blog as much as I enjoyed our visit in Plitivice.
