“Love has you either in a … Crush or a Crash”
Welcome, this is my first photo assignment! It is suppose to display contrast in technical terms but also evoke feelings of contrast on a deeper level. This idea was just an inflection on a recent song I’ve been introduced to by a friend and its been stuck in my head.

by Gallant x Tablo x Eric Nam, and Tablo’s verse in particular makes me think a lot about contrast in things beyond the idea of love. In his verse, Tablo creates a lot of contrasting imagery with what love can do to a person. The feeling of excitement x the feeling of dread, the feeling of happiness x the feeling of sadness etc. He raps:

“Love has either got you over heels or overdosed
It’s got you off your feet or on your toes
It’s got you out your seat or in your place
It’s got you diggin’ it or your grave
Love has got you mad about or just about mad
Got you in a crush or it’s got you in a crash
What used to make your heart sing a hit, sing a smash
Will make you wanna hit, wanna smash
Everything that you had into pieces
But love becomes clear when in pieces
What you couldn’t see and hear during peace is
Why a heart becomes ears in two pieces

I love it. Not many songs touch base with both side of the spectrum of love, and display it through words. In this photoshoot, I hope to capture those same feelings that I got from the verse. The feeling of contrast, both in clothing, posture, colors etc. Keyword is “hope”.
Beyond that though, I wish to continually entertain you guys with my photographs, and i definitely hope that my photography gets better alongside blog posting. Let me know in the comments of what you think!
