I think you have done an amazing job with the photo! I am loving thr color you went with as well. I'm sure the colored version was good, but this gives it a bit more interest. Yeah, I really like it. Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you. I like the less saturated colors for this one. I felt it was less distracting. I am glad that you felt that it worked.

Thinks it's a great photo, only criticism I have is visual of the shirt. If you wanted to show off your military service I would make sure the shirt is a little more straight to show it off. When I was looking at it the first time I couldn't tell. And looking a second time after knowing what to look for I can still barely see it. But other than that I think the placement of the crates and camera next to you is amazingly done. If I hadn't known the purpose of the shirt I wouldn't have any criticism! Have to do this myself soon.
Thank you for the compliment and input. The main part of the shirt that other veterans would recognize is the part on my left shoulder. The "Grunt Style" brand has become a well known brand for combat veterans to identify each other.

Thanks. I understand what you mean about not liking to be in front of the camera. At least when I do shots like this, I can sort of be in front of and behind the camera. I hate posing for other people.

Thank you. I am really enjoying shooting in the studio. I think I am going to do a lot more studio shoots from here on out. I like having the control of all the lighting and not worrying about weather or anything.
Good job with this 'selfie' ;) Not easy to get the right positions and mimic making a self portrait... How many times You tried before getting the final shot?

Thank you. I think this was the 4th shot. It wasnt too difficult to frame everything up since I could guess at the size of myself. The only thing I did notice in the end result was the camera wasnt perfectly level which you can see with the crates, but when I tried to fix it, it started to crop even closer to the left side of the frame and my hand was getting even closer to the edge.
