Flying Heron

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

While walking around the San Dieguito Lagoon, near the Del Mar Racetrack in San Diego, I was practicing with a new telephoto lens. All of a sudden, a heron came flying by. I did not even have a chance to check the camera shutter speed, I just panned, held down the shutter button, and luckily captured this image.

Sometimes photography is just being at the right place at the right time.

The position of the head is so interesting, you never notice it until someone captures it! Dynamics are great!
