Foggy Evening In A Quiet Park

in #photography8 years ago

I know, it's March already and it should be spring. Alas, it isn't. There was a heavy wave of cold last week and it snowed for 3 days in a row.

It's much warmer now, but there's still a lot of snow left on the city streets and on the alleys of the park where I usually run. Combined with the fog and the blue lights in the background, the white patches gave me a strange, eerie sensation, like the whole setup was ready to receive some wizard-like creatures:

Some parts of the park looked like a Mordor tourism ad. I literally waited for some elves to land on this runway, guided by a carefully hidden control tower somewhere in the trees.

And on the hairy trees alley, apprentices were walking their dragons.

I know, it was just a dog.

But it seemed like a dragon, for a second.

We have had some crazy winds for the past couple of days and tomorrow NYC is getting a big storm . Where is spring ??

Great pics @dragosroua , enjoy this calm and beautiful weather!

Is that Cismigiu? Or the night shots make my intuition crazy? :D

Yes, it's Cismigiu :)

:D spot on. I really have to go in the Bucharest parks for a series. Thanks for the inspiration you gave me. Have a great day!

The snow really has the power of turning everything into wonderful. Just as depicted from your photos the elegance it creates by even turning a simple street lamp to even look eye catching. Anyways i wonder do u want the snow to stay for some more time or you just want the sun to glow in full bloom. I would had loved a little longer snowy winter.

Now fog tomorrow a full day with sun!

Do you have any idea how to find out the exact time of a steemit post ?

You can see it on steemd, steemdb and steem world but it does not say what timezone it is, and these sites even show different times for the same post, steemd and steemdb show the same time, but steemworld is 2 hours behind the other two so obviously they are set-up to different timezones.

I think the time is UTC, and you can get it by a simple API call, directly from steemit.com. For example, this post data can be seen following this URL, where I only added ".json" to it:

https://steemit.com/photography/@dragosroua/foggy-evening-in-a-quiet-park.json

The property that says the time of the post is "created":

"created":"2018-03-06T18:56:12"

So you only add ".json" at the end of an URL (taken from the user's blog feed) and you get all the fancy stuff.

Hope this helps :)

seems to be fairy tale situation at your place. Hopefully fog is under control and you have good visibility. In our region when fog comes some time you find zero visibility. All the best for spring season

The place is a bit scary.Imagine if you walk alone and some strange shadow is following you and the street lights are blinking aha . It reminds me of a horror game that I played on my computer. Anyway nice shots!

Hairy Tree Allies :) What would Frodo think? Would Sting's blade glow blue?

That looks like photographs from a suspense thriller.intresting photographs.
