Portrait Photography #102-with Georgia- Base posing style -retouched samples with before and after shots.
What makes a photographer when everyone is taking pictures?
“Technology doesn’t change the way photography is,” Van Sickle says. “It just... makes it available to more people, which means there’s going to be much,
much more really terrible pictures taken or pictures that are totally dependent on subject, which is all, all right.”
“What a great photographer does is, they are consistently able to make something in a style that’s personal to themselves.”
We will speak most about photography but first let me introduce you my new friend,Georgia. We live in the same city,I saw her images on instagram and i sent her a message-invitation for a test shoot!
She is 18 and not a professional model, although she could probably be...who knows?I like her face, cause she has nice zygomatic and angles, the way i want it for the style i shoot!
In the photo above as you can see i set a kind of a red filter and for maybe the first time i tried to add some grain,i like it!I 'm in a "discovering my style" period,so I 'm trying new things and styles...
I set almost the same settings for this photo cause its almost the same.
For these 3 photos we visit a local pub where the owner is a friend...I like the brown-grey colours in the atmosphere and these yellow lights are just perfect!
In the third photo as you can see i used extra lighting source-a led light to clear the shadows on her face.
Try to find places with different contrasts and compositions, atmospherical colours, architectural or physical lines...
Put the lines in front of your subject,so they 'll seem to guide your eye to your subject!
In this photo above i used a flash with a trigger to direct the light to her from an angle where her nose looking to avoid shadows in her face.
If you 're looking for somethnig more artistic shadows in not a problem, but when the sun in behind your model you need to have enough light in your models' face,so find a way to bounce some light-a wall,a reflector or something else...
These 3 photo are with natural light in a park!
I used Lr and Ps for the editing...For more advices check my previous posts!
Keep shooting! :)
