Why Don't You Make Eye Contact

I find it quite hard to make eye contact with people. I am shy and I have to feel really good about myself, and really like the person in order to make proper eye contact more than for a fraction of a second. I often find it hard to make eye contact even with my own camera, which is quite weird because I can show everything else to my camera. My portraits are hardly portraits because I shy away from looking at the lens, and the viewer. I need to practise Eye contact more.

Shot with the Fujifilm x100f.

I’m an introvert and an extrovert... most of the time I don’t make eye contact with people because it opens the door for conversations of average boring people 😂😂😂

Hahahah that is so true, gotta be careful with that!

I think you have great eyecontact in this one. Love

Sometimes I do, most often not!

Depends on the situation. You have more other eye contacting shoots. Let us see what future brings. This time I will not comment on myself from your mouth.

I couldn't hold myself.
Eveuncovered: "I got bored in here. I couldn't find something inspires me. Let me share Autumn's posts. Hmm there are too much pyscho perverts. I do not want to share my artistic shoots with them. Yes I am beautiful and sexy but want to show my artistic id too. You guys i fed up with you. Look into my eyes i am a free human being too and wanna exist in this way"

I though you were the opposite type of person...

Surprises of the life. Have a nice day.

You thought I was open and outgoing? :P

It sounds like attraction plays a big part in how you have contact with people. Maybe if you don't think about attraction having eye contact would be less of a problem.

Thoughts are dangerous

One trick to improve my own eye contact, when I remember, is to try see what color the other person's eyes are.

That is a really good tip!

First of all you have beautiful eyes, now what I want to tell you is I am actually an introvert I am not a socially outgoing person but I do have a terribly forceful stare, so what I do to avoid complications is just look a person straight in the eyes until that person gets nervous and avoids eye contact, I have never lost a staring contest. That is the only way I can overcome my fear of others.

Eye contact makes me feel vulnerable, as if the other person is able to stare right into my soul and find out all my secrets and worries. I rarely hold eye contact when speaking to someone. If I force eye contact, I feel as if I'm trembling... unless it's someone I trust or really like - then it's a little easier - I maintain it a little longer.

Is that a wood-fired boiler behind you? And is it really cold enough that you need a sweater in July?

interesting! I don't make eye contact often either.

There was a period I went through where I found it difficult to make eye contact with a stranger. A trick I used was to practice eye contact while wearing sunglasses. For some reason it's easier. Almost like there is a real protective barrier between you and the subject. Once comfortable with this I dropped the sun glasses and started consciously practicing short bouts. Worked for me dunno if it would work for you but thought I'd share my experience and hope it helps.
