Freshwater Lake is a tour of Aceh which is located in Gayo

It is said that there used to be a village hidden on a mountain. The mountains curved around the area. The abundant natural produce, the people live in harmony with nature. the plain of Gayo, the plateau where prosperity surrounds its inhabitants.

Formerly in this area, there is a small pond in the middle of a vast forest again in which only a few fish live. the water gushed out from the ground like boiling water so clear that all the animals that inhabit the forest are very fond of drinking water from the pond. not only animals that often come to the pool, nymphs from heaven was said to often visit the pool to just take a shower while playing and joking their fellow. according to the story, Princess Bensu is one of the names of the nymphs who also take bath together with his brothers while stretching over the boulder that is on the edge of the pool. while next to the other large rocks there is usually a young man named Malim Dewa who always blow the flute with his merdunya to captivate the angel especially Princess Bensu. After bathing the nymphs will return to the sky better known as the State of Between.

on the outskirts of this crystal clear pool also grows a very large tree trunk, a lot of fruit and leafy leaves. where all kinds of animals that live in the forest to take shelter from the sun and the swift rain while resting for a moment after melalang buana looking for food, as well as a place to relieve thirst because the pool is very clear water and is right onside of the big tree.so even with birds playing from one branch to another while looking for food on the big wooden tree

At that time lived a scholar who is very respected and deeply respected by the Gayo community because keta'atannya in worship, wise in putting the case again wise in behaving, this cleric named Aulia. the Scholar has a very different body of the human body now, he is very large and tall, has a very wide footsteps, not how high mountains are looming on the earth and in the long and vast oceans of the ocean. that's about the size of his body, the width of his pace, only our imagination can deduce it. So the Ulama is called Unok. Until now Unok nickname is still inherent among Gayo society. usually given to those who are big, tall and have a wide foot step.

The trees start on the cut, the rope starts in the knitting. making a large boat in need of large trees and many also, then Unok decided to choose a large tree trunk that is beside the fish pond in the middle of the forest. Immediately, Unok start pulling the tree strongly because it is very big and very old. unok almost exhausted but continue to pull the tree trunk, so strong Unok pull until the tree trunk is uprooted along with roots that deepens in the ground. after the trunk of a large tree had been pulled by Unok then he took it by dragging it to the ground to the shore of the Aceh Sea and continuing it across the vast ocean to near Mecca. the former roots of large trees that land uncovered so as to form a very large hole and very deep, over time the pool water filled the hole, the water even more and more until the pond turned into a lake known as Lake Laut Tawar andreportedly the trunk of a large tree that dragged Unok has now become an Arul (river) called the Peusangan river that drains water from Lake Laut Tawar to the coast of Aceh today .
