Week 3: Pareidolia
For the third week the School Photo Art School of Photography proposed an observation game called PAREIDOLIA, which is a "psychological and visual phenomenon that is created when we recognize in some inanimate objects forms known as faces or bodies. when we see the clouds, the rocks, or the walls, when we find shapes that we recognize and call our attention because our brain associates lines, shapes and surfaces with recognizable objects. "
For the rest of this week we continue associating it with the process of inner rediscovery that is forged in our soul and that is why we chose the theme of the masks, we took a simple lid of a plastic basket, and proposed the fish eye effect for give a certain rounded shape and in turn the own figure of the mask offers an effect as robotized or alien according to the eye of the viewer.
Week 03: Pareidolia
The whole picture is full of metamessages, something as simple as a cover, in addition to plastic material, blue, the oval shape, long face, that represents that mask that we sometimes have to wear to keep smiling at life although inside we are completely devastated, to pretend that we do not care that they have cheated us, they have lied to us by seeing each other in the eyes, they have changed us for another person, they have disappeared from our lives without any explanation starting in two our own existence.
This plastic mask also symbolizes all the fatuous, the tinsel with which they want to engross us, those chimeras that pretend to sell us but in the end they do not represent but the absurdity of life, the superficial and the ephemeral that has no transcendence because it It melts with the heat of the sun until it fades slowly.
What really differentiates us and makes us transcend, or as we would say paraphrasing the poet Silvio Rodríguez, what makes mud a miracle, what engenders wonder, is love, first of all, so that it is slowly transformed into energy that radiates to our whole environment.
Let's take off the masks, which do not allow us to show ourselves as we really are, we do not continue to offer curtains or simulacra, we have bridges with the other, with the other and above all we sow a lot of love wherever we go and let the miracle happen.
We are going to win, our life is going on ...
