The Daily Of The Sea Northland
With white sandy beaches and stunning eternal views, New Zealand's east coast is better known than the western part. However, some beautiful secret places are in the west. Check out Hokianga located in the most remote part of the North Island, with its vast harbor, 150-meter-high dunes, and the pristine forest with New Zealand's largest kauri tree - Tane Mahuta, will further embarrass you.
Go to the "Lord of Forest", a 51-meter tall tree provided by Wipoua's dusk forest tour. Dominated by the Maori, Hokianga is a great place to discover New Zealand history.
Hokianga is in the Northland region, about three hours drive northwest of New Zealand's largest city, Auckland.
