Photography of macro lens #33| Harvesting spiders (harvestman) in the jungles of Aceh

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

A beautiful day for us all to share the story.
Harvesting spiders (harvestman) is a small animal resembling a spider with legs that are very long. At first glance there is nothing to draw from this animal because it looks it makes no difference with other spiders. But precisely that is interesting because it is not a spider..

Before we discuss further the question of this animal, we discussed the question used to be transferred. In the West, spider stilts known as "harvestman's" (the harvesters) because the spiders are most often seen in autumn, the season in which a lot of people harvesting plants it has. Other names for this animal are "daddy longlegs ". As a side note, the barn Spider (Pholcidae) and flies (Tipulidae) stilts is also given the nickname "daddy longlegs " due to his physical resemblance, that long-legged alike.

This animal I found on the outskirts of the forest area in Aceh, North Aceh. He was playing on a unique mushroom shaped umbrella upside down.
In the language of Indonesia itself, I have yet to find a uniform naming about this animal. A number of literary Indonesia named it with the name "harvestman" "or spider harvesters ". Other literature has its own appellation made of these animals: spiders stilts, because this animal is indeed similar to spiders and long legs like stilts..
