Aviation blog - part 3 - Wizz Air Airbus A320 at OSI apt

in #photography7 years ago

Hi guys! In this post I am sharing one of the few international flights from OSI airport, CRO which is used mainly by locals that live and work in Switzerland or Germany. The funny thing is that when an aircraft is landing on this airport, the approach crosses the border and therefore needs special approval from the neighbouring country. The population of Osijek city is around 110 000 people and is the biggest city in that part of Croatia called Slavonija.

The airline I will show in this post has its HQ's in Budapest, Hungary but has many bases in other EU cities. Although it flies from Basel to many destinations including Osijek it has no base there. The aircraft shown is produced by Airbus, the EU plane manufacturer widely used across the industry.

Company: Wizz Air
Country: HU
Type of company: Low Cost Carrier (LCC)
Type: Airbus A320
Registration: HA-LPL
Age: 10.4 years
Picture taken: Osijek airport (OSI), CRO

Furthermore, the airport itself is small but has a scratched aircraft used for security drills on the airport which is not common on other airports. The funny thing is that in my first post I showed one of the Trade Air F100's which still fly, but this one was owned by Trade Air and later given or sold (not sure) to OSI apt. Although the name "Sun Adria" on the aircraft shows no relation with Trade Air as it was previous name of the company and was not renamed after it was taken by Trade Air, it flew with them.
