Eurasian Siskin: A Lively Spirit of the Northern Woods

There is a flash of yellow among the branches, a quick flutter followed by a musical chatter—that is often the first hint of the Eurasian siskin. Despite their delicate size, Eurasian siskins are remarkably resilient. They adapt well to changing conditions and can be surprisingly bold around bird feeders. In many regions, their winter appearances are eagerly anticipated by birdwatchers, as flocks may arrive unpredictably depending on seed crops further north.
