City gull
The city gull.....
winner of: Young wildlife photographer of the year award: 15-17 years
()
Some of the tallest buildings in London..... surround the docklands...... at the heart of the business and financial district .......
As Eve walked along the wharf..... a bird caught her eye.........
It was a black-headed gull.... of which there are many in the city........
But this one was resting on a very remarkable area of water........
Eve realised that she was looking at reflections of the straight lines of the nearby office block... distorted into moving swirls...
The effect was so unusual...... it gave a beautiful setting for an urban wildlife image........
Like all true photographers.... Eve had noticed what others most often fail to see.... even when it s right in front of them.....
NICE! Eve..... good eye!
Amazing picture......especially for someone 15 to 17 years old.....
the reflections are impressive!
a deserved win.....
enjoy!

Nicely done.
Ive been feeding my urban herring gulls from my kitchen for over 5 years now.
Herring gulls are really lovely, smart but misunderstood birds.
Thanks for this.
misunderstood like me. I finally have something in common with a bird!
so kind of you :) 5 years are a pretty much time :)

A beautiful creature in broken water ...
it is like like the railways...
Kind of like a lot of animals in this world. Amazing creatures but in a fallen world.
