North American Friday: Classic Cars in Backyard, Cuba

in #photography6 years ago

Since the US embargo makes it hard for Cuba to import new cars, Cubans do their best to keep their famous classic cars running and have managed to do so for the past 60 years. These old cars are constructed quite simple and it is a common sight to see Cubans working on engines and Cables on their opened up cars in backyards and on the street side.

Congratulations @jpphotography

Nice, thank you!

The only reason I want to visit cuba is to see the classic cars. I wonder if even these days they are still using the same cars. I mean, at some point they'll break down too!

Since these cars don't have any electronics in them, they are easy to fix, and in fact the old American cars are more reliable than the new Chinese ones that are much harder to fix! The only reason for the classic cars to disappear from Cuba I can see would be if Cuba opens its market and foreigners buy all the classic cars and ship them off
