Number 31 on the central and popular Gran Via street in Madrid is another of the impressive buildings that, representing that neoclassical architecture that sometimes shares the spotlight with the elegant mansions of modernism that characterized much of the architecture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, displays, in its heights, part of that other mythological wealth that characterizes and at the same time, denotes the presence of an unorthodox life, which, really, few people stop for a moment to contemplate.

In that sense, the presence of Diana the Huntress and her five imposing greyhounds is notable here, which, having changed their privileged and natural environment, among deep forests and wonderful beech groves, stands out, like a metaphorical pontiff, acting as an intermediary between earth and sky.

Although her bow is usually aimed at that other metaphorical Magician Circe, who, after all, we can consider to be the Moon, sometimes, the perspective makes us feel the fleeting illusion that this goddess of Nature also embarks on very human adventures, aiming with her accurate arrows at the flocks of pigeons that often cross the vertical line of her bow.

Es, el número 31 de la céntrica y popular calle de la Gran Vía de Madrid, otro más de los impresionantes edificios, que, representando a esa arquitectura neoclásica que en ocasiones comparte protagonismo con los elegantes palacetes del modernismo que caracterizó buena parte de la arquitectura de finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX, muestra, en sus alturas, parte de esa otra riqueza mitológica que caracteriza y a la vez, denota la presencia de una vida heterodoxa, que, realmente, son pocos los que se detienen un instante a contemplar.

En ese sentido, resulta notable aquí la presencia de una Diana cazadora y sus cinco imponentes lebreles, que, habiendo cambiado su entorno privilegiado y natural, entre bosques profundos y maravillosos hayedos, destaca, como un metafórico pontífice, haciendo de intermediario entre la tierra y el cielo.

Aunque su arco, por lo general, suele apuntar a esa otra metafórica Maga Circe, que, después de todo, podemos considerar que es la Luna, en ocasiones, la perspectiva nos hace sentir la pasajera ilusión de que esta diosa de la Naturaleza, se embarca, también en aventuras muy humanas, apuntando con sus certeras flechas a las bandadas de palomas que a menudo cruzan por la vertical de su arco.
