[ENG-SPN] Of the paradoxically beautiful / De lo paradójicamente hermoso

Before Borges incorporated it into the labyrinths of his fantastic universe, it was Francisco de Quevedo, the most intrepid linguist of the seasoned writers of our Golden Age, who, possessed by the spirit of Saint Thomas - an apostle who, centuries later, would become, hand in hand with Voltaire, the Patron par excellence of Rationalism- who put his finger on the sore spot, noticing how paradoxical time and its circumstance are, where yesterday is the still and also the yet, a concept, this last, to which our rascally Parnassian referred to with a laconic 'and a is tired'.

That 'still' of Borges or that 'one is tired' of Quevedo -apply the dear reader, the magic formula of the Catholic Kings: so much riding, so much riding- is a practical equation of relativity -Saint Albert Einstein, God willing- for which, and in imitation of the intelligent Scheherazade, a person can pass a thousand and one times by the same place, contemplate it in a thousand and one different ways, and marvel at the thousand and one forms that Beauty can take, without moving an iota of place.

Antes de que Borges lo incorporara a los laberintos de su universo fantástico, fue Francisco de Quevedo, el más intrépido lenguaraz de los avezados escritores de nuestro Siglo de Oro, quien, poseído por el espíritu de Santo Tomás -apóstol que siglos más tarde, se convertiría, de la mano de Voltaire, en el Patrón por antonomasia del Racionalismo- quien puso el dedo en la llaga, al advertir lo paradójico que son el tiempo y su circunstancia, donde el ayer es el aún y también el todavía, concepto, éste último, al que nuestro parnasiano bribón se refería con un lacónico ‘y un es cansado’.

Ese ‘todavía’ de Borges o ese ‘un es cansado’ de Quevedo -aplíquese el amigo lector, la fórmula mágica de los Reyes Católicos: tanto monta, monta tanto- es una ecuación práctica de relatividad -San Alberto Einstein, Dios mediante- por la cual, y a imitación de la inteligente Scherezade, una persona puede pasar mil y una veces por el mismo lugar, contemplarlo de mil y una maneras diferentes, y maravillarse de las mil y una formas que puede adoptar la Belleza, sin moverse un ápice de sitio.
