I got my first "good" camera. Nikon Coolpix P900. A relatively old but trustworthy companion for a beginner to photography. Okay, well, I don't actually know if it's a good camera for beginners. I've just been drooling over it for a few years and finally hit a spot in my life where I could pull the trigger. Plus, with a newfound interest in blogging, it seemed only right to get a camera so that I could up my picture game.

Since this is my first fancy camera I don't have many good shots to show off as of yet. It's day one and I don't know how to work this heckin' thing. Figured I might as well get the shitposting out of the way on the shitchain before Hive launches on Friday!

I took a few shots of the snow for @foxkoit since he requested some and gave me a few pointers. I haven't fully utilized his tips yet though. It's hard to adjust settings, especially while learning the hardware when it's still -40 degrees up here.

I mentioned drooling over the Nikon P900 for a while now. Some of you know why I drool. The built-in 83x Optical Zoom. It allows you to take some awesome shots of craters on the moon or a selfie on the beach all without swapping lenses.

Without context, that's just a few kids having fun on a hill and a windsock. Here is a screenshot of google maps showing my location in relation to the kids as well as the windsock. I guesstimate the distance to the kids as being 2,000 feet. And roughly 2 miles to the windsock. Now that's some zoom! Perfect for the self-isolation this coronavirus has brought. (Because THAT'S the reason I self-isolate. Sure bud, keep lying to yourmyself lol)

Now I get to torture my dog too by making her my model! She does not seem impressed. All photos are taken by myself. No credit is needed because they belong to me. Shoot with a camera, not with a gun. Unless it's for food.
