Spring Plowing
It was an absolutely gorgeous day on Sunday and my friend and I went out bike riding. (It’s been back to rain and overcast for the last few days so I’ve got some time to do some writing)
We didn’t go that far because it was the first real ride of the season. I had to pump up the tires and get the feel for things again plus during the winter you tend to slack off a lot and your body is not used to exercising like that. I think I did well considering.
Out in the field a farmer was plowing the soil getting ready for spring planting. The birds were all swarming around and being noisy. I think they were eating the bugs, worms and or potatoes that were being churned up from the ground.
Part way through the ride we took a break and my friend bought me a latte. The baristra just poured it straight into the cup and it came out with this neat pattern. It is really fun getting coffee served in a real cup like that. So much of the time I just get it in a to-go cup and never really spend the time to enjoy drinking it with a friend and having a conversation.
It looks like I might actually get a lemon off my tree this year. As you might recall from a previous post the lemon tree harvest hasn’t exactly been stellar in the gloomy Pacific Northwest weather. The poor tree struggles along and drops all of its leaves trying to make a lemon.
The smaller of the two lemons on the tree dropped off last night after getting slightly yellow. It is about twice the size of last years lemon crop so I guess that is progress. The big lemon is still on the the tree and maybe, just maybe it might be worth eating with some luck. The tree is putting on a bunch of new leaves, I think the increasing spring time light is perking it up.
I’ve been getting the soil prepared for my garden and should be planting soon. It is feeling like spring and the days are getting warmer.
Thanks for reading! I always value your comments and support. Photos were taken by me with my Galaxy S7.
spring is indeed the season of life. many people love to do their own activities, especially for farmers. I am very happy to hear that you have prepared the land for your citrus trees. it's certainly very interesting. if only you where I am in Aceh, then you will always enjoy the long spring. thanks for sharing. i like you.
Thank you. The spring lasts a long time around here, it is one of my favorite seasons.

thank you are visiting my blog @lightsplasher may be a friend good, hopefully tree lime you get great results
Best regards about your planting Sir @lightsplasher
There is a lot of joy to be harvested with just planting alone plus if it gets successful we will be rewarded with nice things. I just wished that it was the way for me before because now I cannot even go out to cast a seed. All is lost and I do missed the former days where I could pant and then reap after sometime.
Plant some lime too, the rind is some for sweetened stuffs. And maybe some pomegranate or passion fruit for me because that is what I wanted to pant and grow myself.
Thank you. I do have a lime tree too but it hasn't produced fruit recently. I did get a very nice lime off of it once. If I had enough room I would try a passion fruit or pomegranate for you. Apples, pears, and berries do the best around here. The more tropical trees I need to plant in pots and bring into the house in the winter.
The Twilight for @lightsplasher poem for you..

shrink off the cloudy period
elegant this day half exceeded
sorrow knit to follow
the initial grimang of the day has been missed real
thousands of plans have been proven
towards the beginning of dark ....
it is still dark
unbroken hope ...
bright dark breath
answering the complete echo of self
Thanks. Interesting poem you wrote.
I am born in spring so it's definitely my favorite season! Congrats for the lemon tree!!!
Thanks! Spring is one of my favorite seasons too. Temperatures are just right around here and the air is very fragrant with flowers.
In Romania, it's so cold...Saturday was spring, today is plenty of snow...
Why are lemons sparse on the tree? the pattern on the latte is really beautiful.
I think the little lemon tree desires to live down the coast a few hundred miles - LOL. The weather around here is really not favorable to lemon trees. It does seem to be hanging in there with my constant protection of it from frost.
It is fun to do motor bike in spring season. Spring season add so many color in your life. Glad to know that your lemon tree is progressing and giving big lemon fruits. All the pics are amazing. Keep sharing @lightsplasher
I used to like to ride a motor bike too but now I just ride a pedal bike. The weather is getting very nice now for any type of biking.
Oh the latte is pure love. I love, love coffee so that cup just made me smile real big. Glad you had a nice time with your friend.
Coffee is such a wonderful drink, I'm glad it made you smile.
Oh it is for sure and now that I have my own coffee machine, instant coffee can go out the back door Yayiiiee :P But I know I'll resort to it time and again because sometimes I just need black coffee instantly.
Great pics and it looks lovely there!
No new phone yet??
The new phone is awesome. It takes a close up and wide angle at the same time and lets you adjust the background blur after taking the picture. I haven't really figured it all out yet. The new land line, Internet and cell phone plan should save a lot of money per month too.
Oh that sounds cool! It is really amazing how far the phone cameras have come. I am thrifty too so saving some cash is always a big plus!
a very fun day I really like also cycling friends.
Cycling has been a big hobby of mine for a long time. I would rather ride my bike down to the store than drive if I'm just getting a few things.
Wow, that's an awesome pattern in the coffee cup. Looks like a feather! Plowing reminded me about my farm back in India. Thanks for sharing dear brother!
Thank you dear brother! The coffee was very wonderful to drink. I like to ride my bike with friends around the countryside, the farms are fun to see.
