2017 NIKON MACRO PHOTO CONTEST - The world like you have never seen before .

They say the bigger it is, the better it is . And while we decide what is better and what is bigger , we tend to ignore the minute details of it . Some time its all about the details .

Hello friends , this post is about the Nikon's 2017 small world photomicrography competition showing the detailed photographs clicked by the winners of the contest and also including the honorable mentions .

If you are not aware of what photomicrography is ; Its a photograph or digital image taken through a microscope or similar device to show a magnified image of an item. This is opposed to a macrographic image, which is at a scale that is visible to the naked eye.

The competition , attracts doctors , scientists and microphotography enthusiasts from all over the world . Over 2000 people from 88 countries submitted their work for consideration.

This year's top prize went to researchers at the Netherlands Cancer Institute,bioimaging facility & Department of Cell Biology.
They captured immortalized human skin cells expressing fluorescently tagged keratin. You can find the full list of winners on nikons website following the link below :
