Bangladeshi Woodpecker can be found in open places, such as gardens, parks or orchards. But we can also find it in hardwood or coniferous forests, where the trunks of trees are thicker than 25 cm in diameter. Has a body length of about 23-25 cm and weighs about 70 grams. The wings' span is between 35-39 cm and can easily be confused with the lesser spotted woodpecker, which differs only by the absence of black stripe on the sides of the neck to the back of it.
